Our Family Homes for the Elderly (FHE) program serves Broome County residents who are looking for an alternative to a nursing home or assisted living facility. Do you need a little extra help with daily activities like remembering to take your medications? Does the idea of family-style housing and home cooked meals appeal to you?

If you answered “Yes” to these questions, then the FHE program is what you want!

Benefits to you

The FHE staff will carefully match you with a provider to meet your individual needs and provide nurturing care. Home care providers offer practical assistance and companionship for the resident. FHE staff provide Case Management Supervision and Registered Nurse visits every 3 months (or more frequently if needed). On-call professional staff are accessible 24 hours.

Length of Stay

The Family Homes for the Elderly program can be a long-term placement option. Referrals are accepted from interested individuals, family members, CASA, hospitals, nursing homes, physicians and those seeking to improve current living arrangement and lifestyle.

What does it cost?

All services are included in your monthly rent. Assistance provided in-part by Broome County Medicaid.
