To Qualify:
You must live in Broome County.
You must own your home, not rent.
You cannot work outside the home (unless you receive special permission from DSS prior to being approved).
You must have an outside source of income. This income can come from a spouse/partner, family member that lives with you whose income is used to support the household, Social Security benefits, or pension. Public Assistance or unemployment are not considered income and would be lost upon participation in this program.
You must submit to a criminal background check.
Additional Information:
Each client must have their own private bedroom and allowed access to the shared living areas of the house.
You will be monetarily compensated $1,255 per client per month (maximum 2 clients) AND the income is considered non-taxable.
You receive respite time paid by the Agency
Responsibilities Include:
Provide assistance with personal care
Provide meals
Monitor medications
Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for each client
Ensure clients have transportation to medical appointments (can include calling for a Medicaid taxi or BC Lift)
Provide general supervision for safety and oversight
Be available 22 hours per day
