School-Based Family Support Centers
Our mission in the Family Support Centers is to partner with schools and families to provide therapeutic intervention and support services in the school to families who might not otherwise be able to access services. We can act as a bridge between families and schools.
Students and their families can be referred by the school or be self-referred.
We help students with:
- Problems that block social, emotional, or academic success

Bullying

Trauma (a history of physical, sexual or emotional abuse)

Loss/bereavement

Separation/divorce issues
We help parents with:

Children’s needs

Family problems

Discipline issues

Homework routines

Adolescent concerns
Services
Individual, family and group counseling, parent support and education, after-school programming, classroom observation and consultation for school staff on mental health issues.
Services
Monday – Friday 9:00am – 4:00pm.
Evening hours available by appointment.
Funders
Funded through Broome County Mental Health Department, the school districts and United Way of Broome County.
Fees
There is no fee for services provided.
