Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver Programs

The goal of these programs is to help individuals maintain community living and prevent nursing home placement, or for those already in nursing homes, to enable them to safely return to the community.

Family & Children’s Society provides service coordination and Home and Community Support Services (HCSS) or personal care aide services for eligible individuals who participate in either of these programs.

To be eligible, one must be at least 18 years of age, in receipt of Medicaid, and meet other eligible criteria.  Recipients are eligible to receive services that are not ordinarily covered by Medicaid.  Referrals for either waiver program originate with the Southern Independence Center (STIC).  Family & Children’s Society is one of many providers of this service.
