Aide of the Year Jeannine Barrett

In late April, Family & Children’s Society had an opportunity to recognize one of our own at the Annual Aide Recognition Day Luncheon that is hosted by the Home Care Coalition of Broome County. Jeannine Barrett was honored at the event along with honorees from eleven other home health agencies that provide services throughout Broome and Tioga counties.

Barrett has been a home health aide with Family & Children’s Society for 25 years. Her nomination highlighted her “enormous heart and radiating warmth, the appreciation of her clients and an attendance record so stellar that her supervisor has to remind her to use vacation time!”

Said Home Care Services Director Andrea Quezada, “Jeannine has proven time and time again what the role of a home health aide is and should be. Not only is she a skilled professional, she is also patient, caring, reliable and nurturing, and someone who continues be indispensable to our program and the individuals she works with.”

“We know when Jeannine is given a case that we can expect it to go so well we hardly ever hear from the client again, because they are happy and satisfied with the care she gives,” said Penny Donato, Assistant to the Director of Home Care. “And we all know often times in home care, ‘No news is good news,’” added Donato with a smile.

Our Home Care program helps clients maintain a healthy lifestyle so they can remain in their homes as long as possible. A dedicated team of certified home health aides, registered nurses and office staff provide support and services to over 300 clients living in Broome County.

We cannot say enough about Jeannine and how very deserving she is of this recognition. From everyone at Family & Children’s Society, thank you for 25 years of faithful service to the agency and the clients we serve.
