Peer & Outreach Services
Our mobile Peer and Outreach team provides treatment and recovery supports for individuals living in Cortland, Madison and Herkimer counties who are struggling with a substance use disorder. This multi-disciplinary team of counselors, peers and medical providers goes into the community to assess the needs of individuals and engage them with the appropriate level of treatment. Our team will also coordinate care with other providers to ensure a comprehensive continuum of care.
Peer engagement
Our Certified Recovery Peer Advocates (CRPAs) are at the center of our Peer and Outreach Services and a point of contact for individuals and families seeking to engage with our treatment team. Peers utilize their own recovery experience and story to inspire, connect and support individuals who are struggling with addiction and in early recovery from a substance use disorder. Peers are actively working in the community through mobile/rural outreach engaging directly with people who use drugs to prevent overdose and infectious disease transmission; improve physical, mental, and social wellbeing; and offer low barrier options for accessing health care services, including substance use and mental health treatment.
