On October 30, the OASIS After-School Program kicked off its re-opening with a welcome back pizza party. Many students returned from previous years along with a handful of fresh faces new to the program. Amanda Vesely was the guest of honor, introducing the new staff to the group: Coordinator Rachel Chimileski and Team Leader Harold Volquez.
Everyone enjoyed pizza and one long game of “Werewolves,” giving the kids a chance to warm up to Chimileski and Volquez. It was an emotional day for the kids to say their goodbyes to Vesely, who is leaving the OASIS program for a new role within Family & Children’s as the Family Engagement Coordinator at Binghamton’s East Middle School. Stay tuned for more information about Vesely’s new role in the next issue!
