Family Counseling Services was recognized as the 2017 Non-Profit of the Year by the Cortland County Chamber of Commerce. Agency representatives received the honor at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Dinner held on November 9 at Greek Peak Mountain Resort. Six people and organizations were presented with awards at the dinner, and more than 200 people attended the event.

At the awards presentation, Chamber President Bob Haight shared some details and history about the agency and then shared this quote from the agency’s anonymous nominator, who has received services from Family Counseling: “Other communities our size do not have the level of expertise, variety of services, and caring individuals we are blessed to have at Family Counseling Services.”

Executive Director and CEO Lisa Hoeschele accepted the award on behalf of the agency, stating, “I am so happy that our team of outstanding and professional staff have been recognized for their hard work, compassion and commitment to our community. They strive to meet the needs of our residents every day. I appreciate the support of our volunteer Board, our community partners, those who support us financially and of course the clients who turn to us every day to help them become more resilient and to recover.”
